The Rise of the Heroine
Join us as we unpicks why women, trans and non binary creatives need to lead a cinematic shift.
Over a 6 part podcast series, I talk with female, trans and non binary screen creatives and dig into their unique gaze, ..different ways to make films and investigate why they’re not being made… fairness, equity and respect are not embedded into what we create and how we create them…deep into the Heroine’s Journey, a narrative path that offers an alternative to the traditional Hero’s arc. Through conversations with leading mythologists, storytellers, and cultural thinkers like Maureen Murdock, Sharon Blackie, Kim Hudson, Maria Tatar, and Adrienne Maree Brown, this series explores how the Heroine’s Journey can reshape the way we tell stories—and the way we live.
